California Slide Show!!

Spring Break in California

Well as you know I am back from California. The girls, Dena and I had a really good time visiting with family and friends that we haven't seen in way too long. The time really shows by how much the kids have grown and changed. The girls said they remembered everyone which was good, I was afraid they wouldn't. It really hit me how much I miss getting together just for a simple dinner. Talking about things going on and laughing at the kids being silly. We never really needed a special occasion, just being together was all that mattered. I hope My girls will learn to appreciate that as they get older. It was hard to leave but hopefully we won't have to wait another 3 years. Thanks for the great time. I Love You!!!

I had way to many pictures so I decided to just do a slide show. I hope you all enjoy it.

Brent's first races of 2008

Saturday was our last day in California and what better way to end our vacation then hanging out at the races with Family. We all gathered to watch Brent in is Mini Cup Car. It was too cute. Those little cars racing around the track. He started in last and finished 6 out of 18 cars. We are very proud of him. Love you Brent!

Happy Easter

Well it is Easter Sunday and I am getting ready for my trip to California. Making time to get packed and doing all the things we normally do on Easter Sunday has been a challenge. I really shouldn't be on the computer right now.

The girls woke up this morning to find that the Easter Bunny left eggs all over the backyard. They were told they had to wait till we were all ready for church before going out for the hunt. Let me tell you, that is the fastest those two have moved in a long time. After the hunt they opened the eggs and then it was off to church. Service was great. Praise the Lord Jesus IS Alive.

We got back home from church and while I finished up some laundry the girls colored Easter Eggs. They did a great job!

Tonight we are going back to church to watch Uncle Rodger and in the Easter Cantata. I'm sure it will be wonderful!

Well I hope you all had a GREAT EASTER! Before I leave here are a few pictures from today for you to enjoy. Until I get back from California C YA!

Welcome to my Pity Party of a Weekend

To quote my Nephew Brent's last blog...This is a SAD DAY!crying

Here I am at home all alone... which by the way I would normally be thrilled about, BUT NO!! I am home sick. I am pouting and whining just like my girls do when they don't get there way. You may be asking "Why is being home sick such drama for me right now?" It all comes down to one word NASCAR. I should be at BMS right this very second (or at least in traffic getting there, it's the ONLY time I won't complain about traffic).

So let me take you back a few days. My friend Tonia called me Wednesday while I was shopping with Ashley to tell me to pack my backpack because her husband got tickets to go to the race on Sunday. I was SOOO excited, jumping up and down. Even the people at JC Penny's looked at me weird. I was on cloud 9. Tommy and I were both going to go and Tonia even offered to keep the girls. All was set. I called my friend Kelly to see if she would teach our Sunday School class, which she said was "No Problem." Thursday came along and I was going to go to a Jewelry Party but Tommy called and said the Tonia also got tickets to the Food City Family night. So I felt I needed to to the Family Thing instead. We had a good time...Lots of free stuff. Friday I finally got to talked to Jennifer, we had made plans to get together on Saturday. Then I was off to Tonia's surprise Birthday Party just for the girls.
Needless to say with Ashley's school musical performances on Monday and Tuesday night. We had a BUSY WEEK. I guess I had to much fun...Saturday morning when I woke up I felt like I was hit by a truck. Coughing, sneezing, chilling then sweating and runny nose. When lunch time came around it was decision time. Go to the race and rick getting worse or play it smart. I didn't want to get worse because of my trip coming up to California. So I made the painful decision to not go.
I also had to cancel our plans with the Fox Family, Ashley went to a friends house to spend the night. This was her first time, which also makes me sad. I am happy for her that she is finally spreading her wings, but she is Mommy's Girl, always wanting to stick close to me.
So now it is Sunday. Tommy and Allie went to the race. Ashley is still gone. So that just leaves me and my box of Kleenex.crying

Here are some pics since I last posted.

I just knew I was a Super Hero

Anyone that knows me. knows that I am a Marvel Comics fan. I love a good Super Hero. So when Tanja had this link to take the quiz, I was right on it. Here are the results

Your Superpower Should Be Invisibility

You are stealth, complex, and creative.

You never face problems head on. Instead, you rely on your craftiness to get your way.

A mystery to others, you thrive on being a little misunderstood.

You happily work behind the scenes... because there's nothing better than a sneak attack!

Why you would be a good superhero: You're so sly, no one would notice... not even your best friends

Your biggest problem as a superhero: Missing out on all of the glory that visible superheroes get

So what do you think?

First week of March

Well it has been a long busy week but the weekend was pretty much a lazy one.

Since my last post...Oh no I am having a senior moment... what did we do...Hmmm. Ok Upward Awards Tuesday Night. Well it isn't really an award night because all the kids are winners but they put on a show. The entertainment this year was a ventriloquist. It was a pretty good show once I got over the fear. I am not to keen on those puppets the are a lot like clowns...they kind of freak me out a bit. Allie received a nice picture frame and Ashley got a new Basketball as a gift/award for being in the upward program.

Wednesday was a chill out night. Thursday the weather was great so when the girls and I got out of school we rushed home to do homework and then it was off to meet Tommy at the boat ramp. I stopped off at Little Caesar's so we could have dinner on the boat. You can't beat a $5.00 pizza. The only problem is that it tastes like a $2.00 pizza. Oh well my family likes it and Max too. He was out fishing with Tommy all day so he had to eat too.

We were pretty much stuck at home all weekend. I spent way too much money at Sam's club stocking up on food. So the girls had a couple of friends from school over for the night. They played pretty good together. Ashley and her friend practically refused to go to bed. By the time they feel a sleep and with the time chance, I think they fell a sleep around 1:30 this morning.

It was hard getting up for church, but we made it! We had to be back early this evening for a business meeting about plans for a new Worship Building. When I saw the plans it reminded me of the Golden Hill's (our church in California) Sanctuary before they built the existing one. We are very excited about the things the Lord is doing at Sunnyside.

I have a very busy week a head of me. Ashley has a musical on Monday Night followed by a PTA meeting. Tuesday Allie has a Dr. appointment to check on of she night have ADD. Then Ashley has to perform her musical again at the Mall. Wednesday I am taking a personal day off to attend a fundraiser conference for the school. Thursday I have a Jewelry Party and then Friday it's a GNO for a friends birthday. So I will post when I get a chance. I'm off to bed now. Goodnight!

Last Days of Feb...and Upward.

As I was suffering in bed with strep my family really enjoyed their break from me by playing outside in the snow. What a difference a week makes.

The girls were quite upset with us for cutting down their climbing tree.

Saturday was the final day for Upward this year. Ashley is sad about that but she want to play soccer so I will be signing her up this week for that. Here are the pics from the final game.

The Peters Family came to watch the last games.

Look at her go. She loves Basketball

Tonight we are going to the Upward Awards Ceremony. I'll post info about that when I get a chance. For now I am off to help with homework.
