End of Summer Fun

I know it has been a while.. We have been busy since getting back from Disney. The girls are back to school (at Home). It has really been a blessing. I never thought I would ever home school my girls but I am loving it.

Well as most of you know Ashley had her first Horse show the first weekend in August. Here is a few pictures from that.
Ashley and Ducky

Ash

Jumping the Cross Bars
Showing off her ribbons - 2 second, 4 first place, and 2 Champion

Ash has been sad because Ducky has been Lame since the show and she has had to ride other ponies and one horse. Please pray for Miss Ducky to heal soon.
Allie has also got the horse riding bug. She started lessons the week after Ashley's show.
Miss Louise has said that Allie has very good balance and is doing great.
Here are some pic of Allie and Blue.

Ashley is on Lefty and Allie is on Blue

Not quite the smile you always see on Ashley's face, but Allie did say she loved it.

Tommy and I celebrated our 11Th anniversary back on the 15Th of August. Tommy surprised us girls with a white water rafting trip that was a lot of fun. We can't wait to do it again.
We got a visit from Tommy's Family a few weeks back during race week. Me and The girls hung out with Debbie, Becky , Maddie and the new baby Scarlett. Ashley fell in love with her baby cousin. We went consignment shopping and to a few garage sales. Becky loved all the consignment stores. While us girls were busy shopping, Tommy was off to Bristol with his Dad and Little Brother Todd.
Here are a few pics from that visit.

Putt Putt at Fun Expedition

We went away for the Labor Day Weekend to Myrtle Beach. As soon as I get those pictures uploaded, I may share a few. We had a great time with great crazy friends.
I think that about catches you up on whats been going on here.
I will try to do better I promise (fingers Crossed ;-) )

Back From Disney

Hello all,
If it hadn't been for the weather or vacation would have been PERFECT. Nothing better than enjoying your vacation with family and good friends. We all had a great (wet) time. I still can;t get over the fact that the temp was only 87 most of the time it felt more like 187. We had the spray fans going the entire time. We even had to replace the batteries. The girls enjoyed getting to see their cousins and I enjoyed getting to see my sister. It was hard trying to make everyone happy when the age gaps were from 5 to 69. With 13 people we had to split up a few times. We made a point to always eat together, and Boy did we EAT. But hey that's what your suppose to do on vacation.
Anyway we got back and I woke up SICK. This meant I couldn't spend some time with my Dad before he left :-(. It has also meant that I have been stuck at home for the last few day. I only went out to get groceries (much needed, NO TP when we got home) and to take my dad to the airport. I am however getting lots of much needed rest from the vacation.
Next week Allie wants to start homeschooling (can you believe it). The girls will also be going to Basketball camp at church so I will get a little free afternoon time :-).

Oh just to update you on Tommy. He is all healed up from the fire...Praise the Lord!
Love Ya

PS. You can look at the slide I made with pictures of our trip on Allie's'Blog. I took over 500 pics so I will be adding another slide on mine soon.

Tommy is on Fire!!!

No I don't mean in the Love way... I mean he actually caught himself on fire at work today. He is ok. He just lost all the hair in his rights arm, his eyebrows got a trim along with some of his hair. Other than that he looks like half his face got a bad sunburn and his lips are swollen. What am I going to do with him...Pray and a lot of it.

Lifes Just Ducky

Well Ashley's day with Ducky was great. She started the day out sharing some apples and carrots. Who would have thought that it would take a horse to get my little girl to eat healthier. After snack she tacked Ducky up and headed to the ring for her private lesson. Boy did she learn a lot. In just that 1 hr lesson she improved so much. After her Lesson Peter(the owner/teacher) asked me about putting her in shows. He felt like she was ready. Peter also told Ashley to have some fun with Ducky. She rode for about 2 more hours. Cantering and jumping is her most favorite thing to do ( boy the grays are adding up for me). I ruined the riding fun because I felt like Ducky needed a break before her other lessons that night). The poor pony was sweating more than me. So Ashley got off they went to get some water and cool down. She walked around with Ducky for a while then it was off to give Ducky a bath. I think Ashley was the one that got the bath :-). It was probably the longest bath Ducky has ever gotten. They both seemed to enjoy that. I filmed the whole thing so when I figure out how to put movies on my blog I will post one. All in All I don't think Ashley has ever been happier, that is until it was time to go. My baby is in LOVE.

Here is a copy of the poster I made for Ashley's Birthday keep in mind the original is 24" X 36".
I will be spending the rest of the week getting ready for Disney...can't wait!

Allie OK and My Baby turned 9 ;-(

Hello all,

First things first. Allie's last sample came back all clear, I had the lab send it out anyway to make sure nothing would grow and that too came back with nothing to worry about... Praise the Lord and thank you for your prayers as well.

Things didn't workout the way I had hoped for Ashley and Ducky time for her actual birthday. She will however be going today for a Private Lesson and some time with Ducky too. She will even get to give Ducky a bath. No that idea doesn't make me all crazy with excitement, but to Ash she is super excited about today.

So for her actual b-day. After church we took her to LaCaretta for Lunch (her choice) then she had a couple friends come over to spend the day and night with her. I made a brownie cake for her which was of course a horse theme.
The Saddle Club Cake
Ash with Dad, Abbey and Grace.
The plate and cup design were the same as last year. I tried to get her to pick another but she wanted the horse theme so that's what we got. I do hope they change the design next year. I think I will check eBay since they have everything. The cutest thing was Ashley telling me she wanted to have a 8 again party. I asked her why and she said she doesn't want to get older because she wants to always be "Our Baby". I told her she could be 109 and she would always be my baby. I better enjoy it while it last. I know in just a few years she will probably get mad at me every time I call her Baby :-(.
Tommy has been working hard at work. Most the time ALONE. This I am NOT happy about. There should be some kind of law. Isn't this some kind of safety issue. What if get gets hurt and can't get to a phone. Yesterday I had Allie stay at work with him. Am I just being paranoid...I don't think so.
Have a great rest of the week.
Love,

Update on My Girls

Ashley had the best time at camp last week. She had a smile on her face every morning and night. She even got dressed with almost no problems. There was a few "I don't like Jeans" but she put them on anyway. The only downside was Saturday morning when she woke up. All she has talked about was DUCKY. From "I miss Ducky" to "I want Ducky."
Ashley's birthday is this weekend and all she wants for her birthday is ...yep Ducky. So what does on do when you can't get your child the one thing in the world she wants. Well I have made a call to Fox Hollow to see if she can go and spend the day with Ducky. I made a 24 X 36 poster for her to put on her wall. I don't know though, it might make thinks worse.Allie wants to take lessons now too. But of course Ashley doesn't want her to because she is afraid Allie will get to ride Ducky. I keep telling her that as she gets better at riding she will have to move up to a different pony since Ducky is one of the schools most dependable ponies for the beginners. She said she would stop riding if that happened...Oh Boy!

Allie is going back to the doctor tomorrow to get rechecked. In April during her yearly checkup they found a small trace of blood in her urine. The doc said to have her drink more water and get rechecked. During the recheck there was still a trace so they sent it off and camp back positive for Strep B. After her first round of meds she want had another date with the cup. Yes, there was a trace of blood again. So they sent it off again and it cam back positive for ecoli...great. Well the antibiotic they prescribed couldn't be found in Kingsport so the pharmacy had the doc order something else. They called to tell be that a new prescription had been called in for Allie's Kidney infection...is this the same thing as ecoli? I am a little confused and worried She has taken her 2nd round of antibiotics and we will see how it turns out tomorrow. Please pray for her.

Show Allie Some Love

I told Allie that when she turned 10 I would make her a blog. Well since Ashley is away this week I thought it would be the perfect time for her and I to sit down and do one up for her. Well better late than never go check it out at http://www.alliedq.blogspot.com/

She is very happy with it so stop by and say Hi.

Welcome Summer

Well I survived Children's camp last week, although I am still recovering. The girls had a great time. Ashley didn't want to come home. After I go through my over 500 pictures I will post a few of my faves. Tommy was the only one who got into trouble (BIG SURPRISE) up at camp. He showed the boys how to shut of the lights in the girls room by using the circuit breaker. That husband of mine can't seem to stay out of trouble. The boys at camp really enjoyed Tommy though. He said he might take the week off next year so he can be up there the entire time.
This week I will be getting ready for the garage sale. Saving up for Disney hasn't been easy so I thought we could get rid of some stuff that is just taking up a lot of room and get a little extra spending money in the process.
Allie is stuck home with me this week while Ashley is at Hours Camp. She came home dirty yesterday, but VERY HAPPY! She goes for 7 hours each day. This has been hard since it is the first time she has been away from me. She is my little home body. I am happy for her though. I am praying she will develop some independence and self confidence through this experience.
Allie and I will probably go see Transformers tomorrow. She is like me when it comes to liking these kind of movies.
Well that's all for now, catch ya later...

Surprise!!!

I guess I have a problem falling behind on my post...sorry.
Anyway Summer Vacation for the girls has started since my last post. The girls and I haven't been doing too much since we are trying to save for Disney. They have been enjoying softball and pool time with their friends. They did finally win a game which brought smiles to their faces. My Uncle came to the last game to film it for my dad. I think he will think he is watching the movie "Bad News Bears" Both my girls did pretty good though, they each made a double play.
This past week was filled with Vacation Bible School. Tommy was in charge of the 2 year old class and I was his helper. I forgot what that age is like. They are a lot of fun always going at 100 mile a hour. This however made it hard when it can to Bible Time. They have MAYBE a 30 sec. attention span.
Yesterday morning we got a surprise phone call from my friend Marcie (from Cali). She called to say she was heading to Nashville and wanted to visit for a couple of days. She is in for the Country Music Festival. So after the girls' first game, I drove to Kingston to pick her up. Tommy took the girls swimming at a friends while Marcie and I went to dinner and shopping. It has been great catching.
This week will be more of a relaxing week for us. Then next week the girls and I are going to the Children's Overnight Camp (through church) for 4 days. I volunteered to help so Ashley would go. She is still such a home body. I am excited though. Tommy will meet up with us after work each night to help out with the boys...to keep them in line. I'm not sure how that will go knowing my husband. He is the biggest kid I know.
Love,

Softball 2009

Well softball is in full "SWING" the girls are really enjoying it. Sunday for Mothers Day Tommy gave me different options on what I wanted to do. We thought about going to see a movie but I told him I wanted to interact with the girls. We weren't sure about how the weather would turn out so we decided to NOT take the boat out. So I asked the girls what they wanted to do and they actually BOTH agreed that they wanted to go practice Softball. So we had a quick lunch after church and headed out to the fields. The weather turned out beautiful. We had a great time, the girls were slamming the ball pretty good. I even got in on the action helping out. I even fell down giving it my all. I have decided I am SOOOO out of shape. I have felt that fall the past few days.

Monday Ash had Riding Lessons then it was straight to the field for a game. I think Ashley has the same problem I do with a crowd. The girl that was slamming the ball at practice was no where to be seen. She gets so nervous I think she forgets where she is at. The prayer and goal for the week is to try and boost her confidence. Allie is doing pretty good. She is like a little mom out there trying to help the new girls, however, this tends to make her forget about her own position and whats going on. Before the game started Allie asked if they could say a prayer as a team when they were in there little circle. We are so proud of her. I have noticed a change for the good in her since she has been home schooled. They didn't win the game but they had fun. We are planning a practice after church Sunday because 2 out of the 3 practices were rained out. So we thought the team could use a little more practice. We will see how the game goes Saturday.
Check out the slide from the last two games

Back in The Land of the living - ALMOST

Yes, I am still alive... barely though. My allergies are in full swing right now so I am miserable.(poor Tommy).
Anyway I am not going to bore you with a long post about what has been going on for the past few months. I will just sum it up with one word...CRAZY!!!

The girls are doing good. Softball has started back up so they are very excited about that.
Allie and I are going pretty good with the whole homeschooling situation...Praise the Lord!
Ashley is still doing her horse riding lessons. She won't be doing any shows until August or September since she wanted to do the summer camp in June. Since I quit my job to H.S . Allie we need to watch our pennies, especially since we are saving for our Disney Trip in July. So we told her she couldn't do it all.

Tommy's job is going very well. He seems happy with it.

Last night I had a "Mom's Night Out," with some ladies from church. I always get nervous going to things like that. I never know what to talk about, but I did have a wonderful time. I can't wait till the next one! Tommy took the boat out with the girls for some fishing and swimming. They enjoyed themselves, too!

I will try to do better about posting. I just got burned out with it all.
Have a great weekend!

Snow, Snow and More Snow!!

The week didn't start out too good for me. I woke up at around 1:00am in pain. My stomach was bugging me, it has for a while, but It really hurt. I was also having the feeling in my chest that you get when someone scares you reel good. My heart was racing and skipping. I must have been having a crazy dream. So anyway off to the doctor I went. All turned out OK he gave me a prescription to help with my stomach issues. I thought I would get a few hours of sleep when I got home from the doctor, but then banging on the door... dazed and confused I went to the door, it was the girls, they had been sent home form school early because of the snow storm that was heading our way. Luckily the meds the doctor gave me had kicked in so I was feeling a little better.
Tuesday, Wednesday and now Today there has been NO SCHOOL. Which is fine by me. Gives me some extra home time and the girls have really been enjoying the time off too. Allie's friend Weldon has been visiting playing in the snow with the girls. I think Ashley is having more fun than Allie. Don't get me wrong, Ashley is in NO WAY interested in boys, She just likes to play rough and do sporty stuff like boys do. She says it's like having Brandon here to play with her :-(.
So while the kids have been outside in the freezing cold, I have been curled up with a book I got from Lifeway. "5 Conversations you must have with your Daughter".
What brought this on you may ask... well Allie is going through some changes. we even had the "Who's the Boss" moment. You know that 80's TV show with Alyssa Milano and the "Pink Bow". That was me and Allie at Walmart. She has also been on a emotional roller coaster. I wasn't expecting this for at least 2 more years. Please pray for me and Allie.

Well the slide show is some pictures I have taken of the kids playing in the snow this past month. Enjoy!

New Article on my Nephew Brent

Hey all I just got this email about my Nephew from my sister so I thought I would share it with you all. I am so proud of him.

Curran on fast track to NASCAR
By Brian A. Giuffra ESPNRISE.com

January 8, 2009, 12:10 PM ET

Brent Curran was only 7 days old when he got his first taste of speed. From the comfort of his mother's arms, Curran internalized the sights, sounds and smells of race day while his father, Brian, zoomed around Antioch Speedway in California.

Brent Curran has been around racing his entire life.
Since that day 14 years ago, Curran has been hooked. And the Antioch (Antioch, Calif.) freshman has used his love of speed to become one of the top young race car drivers in the nation.
"I've grown up around races my whole life," says Curran. "I never thought I would be able to be behind the wheel myself."
A two-time national Quarter Midget champion, Curran moved up to the Miniature Motorsports Racing Association (MMRA) Future Stars of Racing program this year. He finished the season ranked second among Western drivers in points to earn Rookie of the Year honors.
Curran's ultimate dream is to join the NASCAR circuit, and he's been working toward that goal for quite some time. Curran was just 7 years old the first time he strapped on his racing helmet and competed in Quarter Midgets, which range in speed from 30-50 mph.
"It was exciting back then," he says. "Now I would think of it as nothing. When you're 7, it feels like you're driving 200 miles an hour."
These days, Curran says the toughest part of racing is explaining to his friends how hard it is.
"A lot of people think all you do is turn left and press the throttle," says Curran, who now competes at speeds around 75 mph. "There's a lot more that goes into it. You have to have the mind power to go out there and do what you've got to do to win, and you have to have the muscle to get around the track."
Unfortunately, Curran may have to temporarily hit the brakes on his racing future next year if the family can't find new sponsors. High gas prices, costly repairs and travel expenses have put a strain on the Currans' budget.
"It's going to be hard not driving a car," says Curran. "Hopefully we'll be able to get back in a car soon."
Here's to a speedy return to the track.
Brian A. Giuffra covers high school sports for ESPN RISE.
Hey and if anyone knows anyone that might be interested in sponsoring him just let me know. He would greatly appreciate it.

The Ice Storm

Well here we are stuck at home during what Tommy calls a Ice Storm. Yes it is very cold out and this morning the roads were like sheets of ice. They even cancelled church today. But I wouldn't call this a storm, I think Tommy will say anything to get a lazy day.

So anyway since Tommy won't let us outside, I thought I would update you all and my blog at the same time. So what do you think of the new layout. Dena said she likes it and also said it was FOO FOO, hum I didn't think that but I was going for the Valentines look. So if foo foo it is, Foo Foo it will stay.

Allie has been begging me to do a blog for her but I told her she could post on our family blog instead. This way you all in California can keep posted with her too. I think Ashley wants to post too, so who knows what you all have in store for you. There should be some interesting posts heading your way. Leave them comments they will love it!

This past week was busy and COLD. Ashley had her riding lessons Monday. She didn't get to ride her fav Pony, but no worries she was just happy to get to ride.

Tuesday, Tommy cancelled Upward Practice because of the weather so is was Family time at home with the WII for us. We also enjoyed the return of American Idol. Tommy says this is the best part of American Idol watching all the crazy people that think they can sing. Ashley is turning into Simon the way she judges those people.

Wednesday night Allie went to Awana with Weldon again, while Ashley and I played WII Tennis and Tommy works on a friends from church truck.

Thursday not much went on Tommy had to finish up the Truck while Allie and I went out to get Weldon's birthday gift.

Friday, we had a 2 hour delay from school. After work Uncle Rodger and I went to get our tickets to fly to Disney World this summer. We can't wait! I am still praying that my sister and her family get to go too. Allie had dance class so I dropped her off then with it being so cold Ash and I went home for some HOT Potato Soup. YUM!

Saturday, Ashley had a Upward game. Her dribbling is getting much better. She doesn't seem to bounce the ball on her feet anymore. She scored I think 6 points. Poor Ash it seemed like there was a invisible screen on the net. It was a very good game with the final score being 32 to 30. Sorry to say The Lady Falcons didn't win this week but they had a lot of fun. I think Grandpa had fun too. I could hear him laughing at those girls fighting for the ball.
After her game we went home and then some friends from church came over with pizza to check out things for the Disney Trip and Some WII Fun. We played bowling, tennis, boxing, baseball and darts. I am so loving the WII.

So that bring us back to today. I am going back downstairs to snuggle up with my family, a blanket and a movie. Could life be any better... Ice Cream, now I am all set

Hello Yall"

Sleepovers, Basketball and WII

This was our first weekend back to reality after having 2 full weeks of Family visiting and vacation.
The weekend stared with me laying on the couch after work with a headache, then the girls came home. We were all laying on the couch when all of a sudden I looked at the clock at 4:45 and panic set in. "Allie you are suppose to be a dance!!!" She ran upstairs crying because she thought it was all her fault and she was going to miss it. I reassured her it was not her fault and we rushed on over to Studio One by 4:58. Ashley and I went to my Aunts for a quick visit then back on the couch with the blanket. Tommy came home with Allie and told me Miss Macey was coming to spend the night. The Allens brought her over which gave us a chance to talk for a bit before they had to get Ian. Ashley enjoyed running around the house with Cade while they were here. It was nice having company and catching up. I have felt like a hermit all winter except for our family visiting. The girls played bratz and dance upstairs while Tommy worked on a friends car and I chilled back on the couch.
Saturday morning I fixed breakfast for the girls then @ noon we headed over to the Church for Ashley's first Upward game. I really enjoy watching her play Upward. It's not as intense as CHAC was. Ashley scored 14 points and got the star for Best Offense. We are so proud of her.
After her game we ran into the Wallens and of course the girls were all over Rylee. I had to take my Aunt home and I told the girls I would get them Mc D's so we brought Rylee with us so the girls could play big sisters/little Mommies and Duffer and Nicole could actually watch Davis play. We came back with just enough time to catch the end of Davis' game and watch the first half of Maceys game.
We had told Ashley she could invite someone to spend the night because Allie had Macey the night before. So she asked Bre Bre. We picked her up then headed over to Johnny Brusco to meet Tommy for Pizza. After Pizza we made a quick stop at Walmart and home for the night to play with the WII. Ashley and I are hocked on Tennis.
Sunday we went to church then to lunch with Dena and Uncle Rodger then home for a quick change before heading to Dena's to help Uncle Rodger clip Teddy's Nails. That did NOT go so well. Talk about a traumatised dog. I don't know what happened to him in the past but I have never seen a dog make such a fuss. He was so upset he pooped.... on me while Tommy and I were holding him. We never even got one single nail trimmed. Just grabbing him foot made him freak out. Poor Teddy.
My van was in desperate need of being cleaned out. Fox Hollow is ruining my carpets. Well needless to say Tommy spent most of the night cleaning my carpets while Ashley and I played Tennis...did I mention we are hooked:-).
Have a great week!
